Bruce Cockburn. Canadian singer-songwriter with Middle School giggle producing last name (pronounced, however, "Co-burn").

  1. John Emerson suggests economist Herbert Gintis. It's an inspired choice.

  3. Bruce had a moment of distinctly non-pacifist white-guilt rage in the 1980s (known as the "If I Had a Rocket Launcher, Some Son of a Bitch Would Die" Incident - see Canadian Royal Commission on Humourously Named Left-Wing Folk Artists of 1988) but he's mellow now. Probably very into cats, fair-trade tea, and Peruvian wool hats. Bless him.

  4. However he imagined this photo would read, all I can think of is an old lady saying either "Heavens to Betsy," or "Mercy sakes alive!"
